"Mountains don't reward ambition alone — they reward preparation, patience, and respect."
— Anna & Jason, Co-FoundersNomads of Altitude is an advisory-led expedition partner — helping serious travellers identify the right objective, connect with vetted local operators, and arrive properly prepared for the environment they are entering.
Nomads of Altitude emerged from personal climbing experience in the European Alps and a deep understanding of altitude training gained through years of expedition work. We recognised something important: ambitious travellers often didn't need another booking platform. They needed a trusted advisor — someone who could listen, assess, and match them with the right expedition and the right preparation.
We started with a simple principle: mountains demand respect. Not hype, not exaggeration. Respect for the altitude, the environment, the risk, and the preparation required to succeed.
Today, Nomads of Altitude operates as a curated expedition advisory, connecting ambitious travellers with vetted, regionally-specialised operators. We work with around 12–30 expeditions annually — intentional, selective, chosen deliberately. We don't execute climbs. We structure the journey toward them.
Our focus is simple: prepare you thoroughly, communicate honestly about risk, and connect you with partners we deeply trust. That's the Nomads difference.
Our process begins with a structured conversation — about your experience, fitness, objectives, and realistic expectations. We assess honestly and recommend an expedition matched to where you are today, not only where you hope to be.
We review your background carefully and recommend an expedition aligned with your current level — a measured, honest starting point.
We introduce you to a vetted local operator who specialises in your chosen region — experienced professionals we know and trust directly.
High-altitude environments have specific physical and psychological demands. We help you build the right readiness before you depart.
We communicate honestly about altitude risks, weather windows, and protocols — so you can make a fully informed decision.
Anna brings a grounded appreciation for the experiential side of altitude travel — the human connection to high places, the psychological adjustment they demand, and the lasting perspective they offer.
Her background spans alpine trekking, mountaineering, and expedition travel across multiple continents. Her focus at Nomads of Altitude is ensuring every journey is meaningful, well-prepared, and fully understood before departure.
Jason's approach is methodical: structured progression, honest self-assessment, and preparation that begins well before the flight. Having summited major Himalayan peaks including Manaslu and Annapurna, he brings both expedition experience and a practitioner's understanding of altitude physiology.
He operates a specialist altitude training facility in Australia, helping climbers and trekkers prepare using hypoxic systems before they leave home. That same preparation-first philosophy shapes every recommendation Nomads of Altitude makes.
To make high-altitude expedition travel accessible, responsibly guided, and professionally structured — without the confusion or avoidable risk that often surrounds overseas expedition bookings. We are deliberately selective: a small portfolio of curated expeditions, properly supported, will always produce better outcomes than a catalogue with minimal oversight.
We communicate honestly — even when the message means adjusting expectations or suggesting a different objective.
Every recommendation is built on readiness first. We don't move forward until the groundwork is genuinely in place.
For the environments we operate in, the local partners we trust, and every traveller we advise.
Risk exists in these environments. We name it clearly, frame it honestly, and let you make an informed decision.
We begin with a structured discussion — your background, your goal, and what preparation looks like from here. No commitment required at this stage.
