Everything you need to know before embarking on your next expedition with Nomads of Altitude.

We organise trekking and high altitude expeditions across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Antarctica.

We offer experiences ranging from beginner-friendly to highly technical. This will be noted on the trip information page. We'll always be honest about what's required.

You don't need to be an elite athlete, but you do need the right preparation for the trip you intend to do.

  • Beginner treks: Ability to walk 6–8 km with a daypack
  • Intermediate climbs: Hiking 10–12 km with altitude exposure
  • Technical climbs: Strong cardio base + prior mountaineering skills
  • High-altitude routes: Mental resilience and steady endurance

We'll provide training guidance for each trip.

Generally included:

  • Local guides
  • Airport transfers
  • Accommodation
  • Permits and park fees
  • Most meals
  • Technical equipment (if stated)
  • Group gear, safety gear, and communications equipment

Typically excluded:

  • International flights
  • Travel insurance
  • Personal gear
  • Tips/gratuities

Your trip notes will specify exactly what's included.

Small and intentional. Most groups range from 6–12 travellers, depending on the destination. Technical climbs may run with 2–4 participants for safety.

Absolutely. More than 60% of our travellers come solo. You can share accommodation (twin-share) or request a private room upgrade where available.

Each trip comes with a full equipment checklist, tailored to altitude, weather, and technical requirements.

  • We advise on good brands
  • We offer rental options for selected items
  • You can request a gear check before departure

Yes — travel insurance is mandatory for all our adventures. For high-altitude or technical climbs, it must include:

  • Emergency evacuation
  • Helicopter rescue
  • High-altitude trekking/climbing coverage

We can recommend suitable insurers.

Your booking confirmation outlines the exact cancellation policy. Generally:

  • Deposits are non-refundable
  • Balance payments follow a staged cancellation schedule
  • You may transfer to another trip (subject to timing and availability)

Travel insurance can cover unexpected cancellations.

Passports and visas will be required. Please ensure your passport is valid well beyond the time of the expedition — some countries require six months validity beyond your return date. You will also be responsible for any visa requirements.

We build contingency days into most itineraries. If the weather prevents an ascent or summit:

  • Safety comes first
  • We adjust plans where possible
  • We provide alternative activities if needed
  • No summit is ever guaranteed — that's mountaineering

We accept Bank Transfer, PayPal, and Wise.
